Malnad Cancer Hospital Leads World Environment Day Drawing Competition to Inspire Young Minds Towards a Greener Future

Shivamogga, June 14, 2026: Malnad Cancer Hospital, Shivamogga, in association with Vijayavani News Shivamogga, successfully organized a World Environment Day Drawing Competition on 14th June 2026 at Sri Ramakrishna Vidyaniketana Residential School, Gopala, Shivamogga. The event was conducted with the objective of creating environmental awareness among school students while encouraging creativity and responsible citizenship.

The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 250 students, who expressed their thoughts and concerns about environmental conservation through colorful and meaningful drawings. The young participants showcased their understanding of important environmental themes such as tree plantation, pollution control, water conservation, wildlife protection, and sustainable living. Their artwork reflected a strong commitment to protecting nature and building a greener future.

Kotur, Consultant Radiation Oncologist at Malnad Cancer Hospital, Shivamogga, addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of cancer prevention, early detection, and regular cancer screening. He emphasized that adopting healthy lifestyle habits, avoiding tobacco consumption, maintaining a balanced diet, and participating in regular health check-ups can significantly reduce the burden of cancer in society.

The program was also attended by Mr. Chandrashekhar Sringeri, Resident Editor of Vijayavani, Shivamogga; Mr. Sundaresh, President of the Shivamogga Urban Development Authority; and Mrs. Shobha Venkataramana, Secretary of Sri Ramakrishna Vidyaniketana, Shivamogga.
